(1)基本用法

英语中的句子按其组织结构分为简单句、复句和复合句。

英语中的复合句是指连接两个独立分句的句子，通常用像and或but这样的并列连词，有时也用一些标点符号(如分号)连接。

复合句最好是由两个或两个以上相对独立但联系紧密的句子组成的句子。比如：

I have a pet iguana. His name is Fluffy.

I have a pet iguana, and his name is Fluffy.

I have a pet iguana; his name is Fluffy.

英语中有些简单句含有两个或两个以上并列主语或谓语，但不是复合句。比如：

My father and mother are both doctors.

Compound sentence My father and mother are both doctors. They both like tennis.

Simple sentence: I'm here to chew bubble gum and learn grammar.

Compound sentence: I came here to chew bubble gum and learn grammar, but I have no gum.

英语中的祈使句是独立的句子，虽然其隐含的主语“你”一般不会出现。如果两个祈使句用并列连词连接起来，也构成复句。比如：

(6)跑句错误

英语中两个独立的句子不能用逗号连接。这种错误的句子被称为连续句。尝试比较：
